Artist Statement
Art brings me joy. I love visual expression in all its forms, and take delight in practicing some of them. Most of my work is abstract or non-representational, although veiled (or not-so-subtle) references to landscape elements may often be found. Bold color, texture, movement and rhythm are usually the means by which I express my vision and feelings.
Over the years, I have experimented with pencils, pens, ink, oil pastels, oil, acrylic, encaustic, wax monotypes, collage, and more, including found wood. I am tempted to explore alternatives that can speak or sing with my voice, and contribute to my personal style of expression.
I intend to create a body of work that conveys my appreciation of the rich and diverse beauty that I can perceive, directly or through imagination. I invite others to share, emotionally, vibrationally, and energetically, my deep experience of beauty and visual expression, and hope it will inspire them as well.
