After early experiments with many media, Bernard focused on oil painting for a substantial period of his life. His 2014 exhibition called “From Impressionism to Abstract” consisted of over a dozen pieces usually emphasizing vivid color, texture, movement and rhythm. Many of these pieces were actually non-representational.
